Free on Mac and WindowsExercise between matches
Exercise after each Dota 2 match
When a Dota 2 match ends, QuestPump on your computer offers a pump: a few push-ups, squats, stretches or yoga moves beside your desk. A long match asks for a bigger pump.

From hero selection to the end
Dota 2 tells QuestPump on your computer the state of each game. The match counts from hero selection to the end, and the pump opens a few seconds later. No move starts until you press Start.
- Nothing opens during the match, however long it runs.
- Drop out and reconnect, and it is still one match.
- Queue again at once? Press Bank all. The moves wait for your next pump.
- With Open the pump after each match off, a small card in the corner asks instead, for 10 minutes. Press Later, and the offer waits in the app for an hour.
- Each match asks once. Pause the offers for an hour, for 4 hours, until 4 a.m., while Dota 2 runs or until you resume.

One file and one launch option
Dota 2 tells other programs about a match only with a launch option, which you add in Steam. QuestPump on your computer never changes your Steam settings.
Get QuestPump for Mac and Windows and open it. It needs macOS 14 or later, or Windows 10 (22H2) or 11.
Open its Games tab. It finds Dota 2 in your Steam library. Until you set it up, a pump comes when you close the game.
Tap Dota 2, then tap Ask after each match.
In Steam, open Dota 2's Properties. Under Launch options, add this:
-gamestateintegrationStart Dota 2 again.
If it stays quiet
Forgot the launch option? Two minutes after Dota 2 starts with no word, the Games tab shows the line in the picture above. On Windows, a closed folder asks you to tap Allow writing to its folder. Windows asks once.
The file
Ask after each match puts gamestate_integration_questpump.cfg in the game's folder, under game/dota/cfg/gamestate_integration. It asks Dota 2 for the map's state alone, sent to your own computer at 127.0.0.1 with a random code.
Turn Dota 2 off in the Games tab, and the file goes. On Windows, uninstalling QuestPump takes it away too. On a Mac, turn Dota 2 off before you delete QuestPump. Take the launch option out in Steam yourself, if you like.
Fig.What it reads
The game's state, nothing more
From each message it reads the code and the state of the game, such as in progress or post game. The rest is dropped unread.
- It never reads your hero, your items, your kills or deaths, the score or who won.
- It never keeps the match's id, your Steam ID or your player name.
- It never reads the game's memory, presses a key or talks to the game's servers.
Fig.By mode
All Pick or Turbo
Every 12 minutes of the match adds a step to the pump's size. At Balanced, where Moves per match starts, a match asks for 3 moves at most.
| Mode | A match, about | Size | Moves |
|---|---|---|---|
| All Pick | 44 min | Extreme | 3 |
| Turbo | 29 min | Balanced, or Extreme from 30 min | 2-3 |
Want less? Set Moves per match to Light in the Games tab, and every match asks for one move. Extreme adds one more.
A match that ends in its first 2 minutes asks for nothing, and one under 5 minutes asks for one move.
Fig.The first move
An easy start after a long sit
Sat 20 minutes or more? Then the pump opens on an easy move on your feet: never on the floor, never in a chair and never a jump.
A record move, when one is due, comes after it. Your goal there is just past your recent best, and your first set of a move is your first record.
Stretches and yoga come after the other moves, once you are warm. Push-ups climb step by step, from your desk to the floor and on: see the push-up steps.

You might ask
Does it work on a Mac?
Yes. On a Mac with macOS 14 or later, Dota 2 works with QuestPump on your computer just as on Windows. The steps are the same.
I play five matches in a row. Then what?
Each match asks once, when it ends. Take the pump, or press Bank all and the moves join your next one. Or pause the offers while Dota 2 runs.
Do I need World of Warcraft?
No. QuestPump on your computer runs the pump on your own screen, with your records and your moves. The add-on is only for World of Warcraft players.
